Toyota GR Corolla Coilover Suspension: ST XTA plus 3 for Street & Track
The Toyota GR Corolla (E210) combines rally DNA from Toyota Gazoo Racing with 304 PS and the variable GR-FOUR all-wheel-drive system. To fully unleash the potential of this hot hatch on the road and the racetrack, the ST XTA plus 3 coilover suspension offers the ideal suspension solution. Thanks to KW automotive's race-proven damper technology, the ST XTA plus 3 allows for separate tuning of the rebound damping as well as the low-speed and high-speed compression damping. In combination with the adjustable aluminum Unibal top mounts, the suspension ensures noticeably more precise steering response, maximum body control, and the perfect balance between everyday use and track day performance.
Toyota GR Corolla Suspension: Where the Factory Tuning Reaches Its Limits
Series
Straight from the factory, the Toyota GR Corolla (E210) features a distinctly sporty setup with stiff bushings and precise axle and steering geometry. As a stock suspension, however, it remains a compromise between driving dynamics and residual comfort. During spirited driving on country roads or on the track—especially when paired with high-grip semi-slicks—the factory suspension reaches its limits: Insufficient damping reserves can lead to unwanted body roll. Additionally, the fixed factory ride height limits any individual adjustment of the height control system.
ST XTA plus 3
Maximum performance for the road and track days: The ST XTA plus 3 coilover suspension brings racetrack technology to the Toyota GR Corolla. It offers continuously adjustable lowering from 25–40 mm (front) and 25–45 mm (rear). Damping adjustment is extremely precise: 16 clicks in rebound and 24 clicks each in the separately adjustable low-speed and high-speed compression ensure direct steering precision and maximum body control. Adjustable aluminum Unibal top mounts allow for precise camber adjustment on the front axle. The XTA plus 3 includes a parts certificate and optional customization of spring color and labeling.
Available coilover kits for the Toyota Corolla (E210)
Height adjustable
Adjustment of the maximum lowering according to the parts certificate via an infinitely variable adjustment range.
Adjustable rebound damping
Individual adjustment of the damper setup recommended by us for even more sportiness or increased riding comfort via 16-way adjustable rebound damping.
Low and high-speed compression damping
Precise adjustment of the handling at low and high speed compression for more steering precision and increased support of the bodywork.
Adjustable Unibal top-mounts
Unibal support bearings with adjustable camber and optional caster for even more direct handling. The support bearings are included in the scope of delivery on the front axle.
Racing suspension system
Linear main spring with constant spring rate. With linear preload spring depending on application.
Composite spring perch
Adjustable spring plates made of polyamide composite material with stainless steel insert prevent corrosion on the suspension strut and ensure permanent height adjustability.
Galvanised strut housing
Galvanised and multi-sealed steel strut housing for optimised corrosion protection.
Dust protection and bump stop
Dirt particles and spray water can no longer penetrate to the piston rod seal package of the coilover suspension. The bump stop is used as an additional spring element when the suspension is subject to heavy loads.
The Toyota GR Corolla as a Popular Project Car
A WRC-proven 1.6-liter turbocharged engine, a reinforced body with additional weld points, and increased use of structural adhesive: The GR Corolla offers an uncompromisingly rigid foundation right from the factory. Professional drifters like Ryan Tuerck and Baggsy Biagioni also value this durability for their custom builds. The result of this robust foundation and targeted chassis optimization: high-performance project cars designed to meet the most demanding standards on the track.
Baggsy: SB Motorsport Toyota GR Corolla
Steve 'Baggsy' Biagioni's Toyota GR Corolla made its debut at the Goodwood Festival of Speed 2026. Built by SB Motorsport, the car runs a 2JZ engine assembled by DY Engine Services and tuned to 1,115 bhp and 798 Nm using a Garrett G40-1150 turbocharger. Precision on track comes from an ST XTA plus 3 coilover kit paired with an FDF Raceshop lockout kit. A Rocket Bunny Pandem widebody kit, forged STRÖM wheels and custom livery by Fleet Livery Solutions complete its striking look, while a Sparco Circuit II seat with 6-point harness keeps Baggsy secured.
Ryan Tuerck: Rain X Toyota GR Corolla
Ryan Tuerck's (#411) Rain X Toyota GR Corolla is built by Papadakis Racing for the Formula Drift Pro Championship. Powered by a turbocharged inline-six with nitrous support, it produces roughly 1,095 hp and 950 lb-ft of torque running on E85. The bodywork was designed by Jonsibal and manufactured by TRD. Chassis dynamics are handled by our ST damper technology and Swift springs, backed by Stoptech brakes and a Papadakis Racing roll cage. ZMO-M wheels wrapped in Nitto tires provide the grip, while a Sparco wheel and Tilton pedals complete the cockpit.
Frequently Asked Questions from the Community
Is the ST XTA plus 3 available with a parts certificate for the Toyota GR Corolla?
Yes. The ST XTA plus 3 for the Toyota GR Corolla is delivered with a parts certificate and installation instructions. This ensures that the vehicle is eligible for registration for road use. If different spring sets are used that do not meet the specifications in the parts certificate, the operating permit under §19.2 of the StVZO expires and must be reobtained through an individual approval process under §21 of the StVZO.
Can I adjust the camber on the GR Corolla using the ST XTA plus 3?
Yes. The ST XTA plus 3 coilover suspension is equipped with adjustable aluminum Unibal top mounts on the front axle. These allow for precise adjustment of the camber angle. Deliberately increasing the camber significantly enlarges the tire contact patch during high lateral acceleration, which noticeably improves steering response and grip in corners.
What is the difference between low-speed and high-speed compression?
The lowspeed and highspeed compression control the damping behavior during piston rod movements at different speeds. The lowspeed compression damping specifically counteracts slow inputs such as steering maneuvers, starting off, or braking, thereby increasing steering precision. The highspeed compression damping handles sudden inputs caused by potholes or curbs. Separate valve systems allow for precise tuning of sportiness and responsiveness without sacrificing ride comfort.
How does the firmness adjustment work on the ST XTA plus 3?
An adjustable rebound damping (16 clicks in total) allows you to customize the ride characteristics: sporty and firm for better body control, or more comfortable for greater comfort in everyday driving. Each click results in a noticeable change in the damper characteristics.
